ORLANDO, Fla. -- For the first time since 2014, the UNC women's tennis team (34-1) will play for a National Championship. The Tar Heels defeated the third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (26-5) 4-0 on Friday evening in the NCAA Semifinal matchup at the USTA Tennis Campus in Orlando, Florida.
With the win over the Bulldogs, North Carolina set a new program record with its 34th victory in a single season.
For the first time since the regional final, the Tar Heels came away with the doubles point to begin the match. Fiona Crawley and Abbey Forbes made quick work on court one as they won 6-1 to give North Carolina the doubles advantage.
