Norfolk, Va. – The No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels (9-1-1) and the Old Dominion Monarchs (7-3-2) tied 1-1 Tuesday night on a muggy afternoon in Norfolk. Mauricio Pineda scored the lone goal for the Heels in the 42nd minute for his fourth goal of the season. With the tie, the Heels are now unbeaten in their last 12 overtime games.
Old Dominion came out the aggressor Tuesday night with two quick shots on goal within the first five minutes, but James Pyle made two big saves to keep the game score deadlocked early.
