The Tar Heels have played one very good and one very disappointing halves of basketball in the NCAA Tournament so far. A repeat performance of the first half against Iona won’t work as the talent level of opponent increases, as is the case today against Washington. Hopefully UNC got it all out of their system Friday night.
Washington plays the same defense as Syracuse, so the Heels are at least familiar with what will be thrown at them. Roy Williams teams tend to do pretty well against that scheme, and hopefully that continues today. Nassir Little was a force off the bench against the Gaels in the first round, and the Heels have a very good record when he is able to get into double figures.
