After defeating the Virginia Cavaliers to win the 2016 ACC Tournament Championship, the North Carolina Tar Heels have earned their No. 1 seed.
The Tar Heels were listed as the No. 1 seed in the East Region as Selection Sunday gets underway on CBS. Finishing with a 28-6 overall record and a 14-4 ACC record, UNC won both the ACC regular season and tournament championships.
Joining the Tar Heels on the No. 1 seed line is Kanas (South), Virginia (Midwest) and Oregon (West). The shocking one may have been the Cavaliers getting the top seed in the Midwest region over Michigan State who won the Big Ten title.
