CHAPEL HILL—The Atlantic Coast Conference women's basketball game between the University of North Carolina and NC State University scheduled for Thursday night has been moved up to a 4 p.m. start due to the likelihood of dangerous and worsening road conditions later in the evening.
Athletic department officials and the conference office will continue to monitor the weather conditions in case further changes are deemed necessary for the safety of both basketball programs, fans, students and staff.
The governor of North Carolina has declared a State of Emergency, and forecasts for this evening indicate sub-freezing temperatures that will continue through mid-day Thursday.
