Chapel Hill -- The University of North Carolina and Mike Fox have reached an agreement in principle for Fox to remain as the head baseball coach. Fox just completed his 20th season as head coach at his alma mater. The 2018 ACC Coach of the Year led the Tar Heels to a first-place finish in the ACC for the second consecutive season and a seventh berth in the College World Series in the last 13 years.
His current contract ends on June 30th.
"Mike has done an outstanding job, not only this season with a return trip to Omaha, but for two decades in building one of the top baseball programs in the country," says UNC Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham.
