In one of the biggest ownership moves in recent NASCAR history, North Carolina Tar Heels legend Michael Jordan and current NASCAR superstar Denny Hamlin have teamed up to create a new NASCAR Cup Series team.
Bubba Wallace, current driver of the no. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports Chevrolet, will be the driver for the new team.
Below is Jordan’s statement about the new race team:
Growing up in North Carolina, my parents would take my brothers, sisters and me to races, and I’ve been a NASCAR fan my whole life. The opportunity to own my own racing team in partnership with my friend, Denny Hamlin, and to have Bubba Wallace driving for us, is very exciting for me.
