CHAPEL HILL— Sixth-seeded North Carolina cruised past Presbyterian, 4-0, in the NCAA Tournament first round on a sunny, breezy Saturday afternoon at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
The Tar Heels (20-3) advance to Sunday's second round in Chapel Hill against Oklahoma State, which shut out Navy, 4-0, on Saturday morning.
Carolina breezed to the doubles point, with & winning, 6-2, over Sebastian Dominguez and Daniel Stenger. Shortly thereafter, Kiger and Soendergaard beat Javier Matos and Nicholas McKinney, 6-1, at No. 2 to hand the Tar Heels the doubles point and a 1-0 lead.
, Blumberg and Cernoch picked up Carolina's singles wins in a match that lasted an hour and 28 minutes.
