Men's Tennis Blanks Illinois, 4-0

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.— won the clinching match at No. 4 singles to send the 14th-ranked University of North Carolina men's tennis team to a 4-0 win over Illinois on Saturday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.

Carolina improved to 5-1 this seaon with the victory. Illinois fell to 6-4.

The Tar Heels won the doubles point to start the match. Poling and William Jansen won, 7-6 (7-2) in a tie-breaker at a No. 3 doubles. Mathis Debru and Oliver Okonkwo, the No. 48-ranked doubles team in the nation, defeated and (NC) 7-6 (7-5) at No. 1.
