CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Despite facing an early deficit, the University of North Carolina men's soccer team responded with a pair of goals in the first half to post a 2-1 victory over Air Force in the 2022 season opener at Dorrance Field on Thursday night.
Air Force struck first in the fourth minute after Jake Chaffetz sent a pass to Thaddaeus Dewing. With no UNC defenders around, Dewing was able to give the Falcons a one-goal lead early on.
The Falcons' quick advantage was erased when Milo Garvanian found the equalizer in the 30th minute for the Tar Heels' first goal of the season.
