GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina's Daniel McArthur has been named ACC Men's Field Co-Performer of the week after a record-setting outing at the Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. on Saturday.
McArthur, a senior from Mooresville, N.C., won the men's shot put competition with a new personal-best mark of 66-9.25 (20.35 meters) to extend his own North Carolina school record. McArthur had previously set the UNC's men's indoor shot put record twice during the 2019 season, breaking four-time Olympian Vikas Gowda's 14-year-old record to top the charts.
The reigning ACC Indoor Champion in the shot put, McArthur currently leads the conference and holds the second-best mark nationally in the event this season.
