North Carolina senior Daniel McArthur has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Field Performer of the Week following a week in which won two events, set two personal bests and set a school record in the shot put.
At the Doc Hale VT Elite Meet on Saturday, McArthur recorded a throw of 20.59m (67-6.75) to win the shot put with the longest distance ever by a Tar Heel. His throw is the third-longest in the NCAA this season.
McArthur, from Mooresville, N.C., also won the shot put on Monday at the Virginia Beach Invitational with a distance of 19.
