CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—Drake Maye threw for 363 yards and three touchdowns, completing 26 of 36 passes, to lead the way as North Carolina dominated Virginia Tech, 41-10, on a soggy Saturday afternoon at Kenan Stadium.
Maye, who entered the game leading the nation in TD passes, added three more scoring tosses on Saturday while also rushing for 73 yards and two scores on 13 carries.
The Tar Heels posted a 17-7 effort in the second quarter to take command of the game and lead, 24-10, at halftime.
Carolina's defense forced a Hokie punt after Tech received the second-half kickoff, then Maye led a 12-play, 94-yard touchdown drive in 4:00 when he scored on a two-yard TD run to take a 31-10 lead.
