Matson Honored For Win At Wake Forest

Tar Heel junior Erin Matson has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday by the league.

A forward from Chadds Ford, Pa., Matson scored both goals as the Tar Heels won 2-0 at Wake Forest on Saturday in Carolina's first road game of the spring. She now has all four of UNC's goals in the spring season, during which the Tar Heels have back-to-back 2-0 shutouts.

It's the fourth time in 2020-21 Matson has won the ACC weekly honor and the second week in a row a Tar Heel has won, following senior goalkeeper Amanda Hendry's ACC Defensive Player of the Week recognition last week.
