CHAPEL HILL—University of North Carolina women's lacrosse players Ally Mastroianni and Jamie Ortega are both among the five finalists for the 2022 Tewaaraton Award, the Tewaaraton Foundation announced on Thursday. The award is the highest individual honor in college lacrosse and is presented annually to the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.
This is the second year in a row and the second time overall the Tar Heels have had two Tewaaraton finalists in the same season (Ortega and Taylor Moreno were finalists in 2021).
