1. For the first time in school history, Clemson has now won three out of four against Carolina, as the Tar Heels suffered a disappointing 63-50 loss at Littlejohn Coliseum. The game was the first time no Tar Heel starter reached double figures since 2010. Aamir Simms was the best player on the court, finishing with ten points, six rebounds and six assists.
2. The first half was testimony to the idea that the open weekend fell on a bad weekend for the Tar Heels. There's a good chance the phrase "fat and happy" might be uttered by Roy Williams in the postgame, as Carolina had a week off after winning at Pittsburgh and responded with the worst half of the year.
