Looking Back On A Semester Of Service

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The fall semester was a busy one for UNC student-athletes, who impacted Chapel Hill and the surrounding communities by volunteering for a variety of projects and in partnership with a wide range of organizations.

“Carolina Athletics strives to provide opportunities for our student-athletes to learn and grow as people, outside of their academic responsibilities and their sports,” said Korie Sawyer, Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Development. “Community outreach is a great area for that – our students learn and grow, and we’re able to give back to the community at the same time.”

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Before the semester began, Tar Heel student-athletes participated in the largest group project in Carolina Outreach program history, a summer Day of Service at a Habitat for Humanity build in Efland, N.
