Laura Gerraughty Inducted Into Penn Relays Wall of Fame

PHILADELPHIA – Former University of North Carolina track and field standout Laura Gerraughty was inducted into the Penn Relays Wall of Fame on Saturday during the Penn Relays. Gerraughty is the first female Tar Heel to be inducted and joins Tony Waldrop and the 1949 shuttle hurdle relay group of Bob Marrow, Jack Moody, Bill Albans and Dick Taylor as the only athletes from the University of North Carolina.

Gerraughty was a four-time National Champion in the shot put and a nine-time First Team All-American while at UNC. She still holds the school records for the indoor and outdoor shot put, 20-lb weight throw, hammer and discus.
