Lachlan McNeil secured All-American honors at the 2025 Division 1 Wrestling National Championships this past weekend. McNeil finished with an overall record of 5-2 at the tournament and finished fifth overall.
McNeil entered the tournament as the six seed in the 149 pound bracket after spending all of the season ranked among the top-10 in the country in his weight class. McNeil started off strong by getting awarded a 10-0 major decision in his first match against #27 seed Kaden Cassidy. McNeil would then defeat #11 seed Sammy Alveraz of Rider; he would lead #3 seed Shayne Van Ness 1-0 going into the third period, but ultimately lost 7-2 to the eventual third place winner and was relegated to the consolation bracket.
