Kenan Legends: Alge Crumpler To Be Honored Saturday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Former North Carolina tight end Alge Crumpler will be honored in the first quarter of the football game this weekend vs. Virginia as part of the "Kenan Legends" series.

Considered one of the best tight ends in UNC history, Crumpler was a four-year letterwinner and captain for the Tar Heels from 1997-2000. He was a three-time All-ACC player, and captured first-team honors as a junior and senior. As a freshman in 1997, he earned second-team All-ACC honors and helped lead the Tar Heels to an 11-1 record and a No. 4 national finish.

Following a standout career in Chapel Hill, Crumpler was selected in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons.
