North Carolina’s Robert Kelly beat Indiana’s Samuel Monette 7-5, 6-3 in a second round match on Tuesday to advance in the 2015 ITA Men’s All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Kelly, a sophomore, is competing in the Qualifying Men’s Singles bracket and will face Ohio State’s Matt Mendez Wednesday in the third round.
Another Tar Heel, junior Jack Murray, fell Monday in the first round to Virginia’s Luca Corninteli
Murray and junior Ronnie Schneider are through to the Round of 32 in the Qualifying Doubles bracket. The duo beat Georgia Tech’s Christopher Eubanks and Nathan Rakitt 6-2, 4-6, 1-0(7) Tuesday to advance and will take on a team from Cal Poly on Wednesday.
