North Carolina's Deja Kelly is headed for Colorado this week to compete for a spot on the USA Women's AmeriCup Team. Trials start on Wednesday in Colorado Springs. The Tar Heel guard, a rising senior, is one of six players vying for four remaining spots on the 12-player roster.
Kelly was set to try out for this team in May but had to withdraw from trials while continuing to recover from an injury she suffered at the end of the Tar Heels' season. Eight players were selected during that training camp. Five from the camp were selected to return to continue to compete for spots.
