North Carolina (2-0) was led by Kea, but also received a double-double from with 13 points and 10 rebounds. grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
Megan Carter had 17 points for Kent State (0-1).
UNC made eight of its first 14 shots of the game to take a 25-10 lead in the late stages of the first quarter. Kea scored the first six points of the quarter by draining consecutive three-pointers and would lead all scorers with 11 points in the half.
