Johnson Selected For WBCA's "So" Coaching Program

ATLANTA - North Carolina fifth-year senior Erika Johnson has been selected for the 14th annual Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) “So You Want To Be A Coach” program. Each member will participate in the three-day workshop held April 1-3, 2016, in conjunction with the WBCA Convention in Indianapolis.

Johnson, a Seattle, Washington, native has spent portions of four seasons with North Carolina after transferring from Cal during the 2011-12 season. She averages 2.5 points and 4.4 rebounds having played in all 31 games this season for the Tar Heels.

The objectives of the “So” program are to increase the understanding and application of skills necessary to secure coaching positions in women’s basketball, increase the understanding and awareness of competencies necessary for success in coaching, introduce female basketball players to coaches and administrators, and raise awareness of the existing talent pool of female basketball players who have a passion and interest in coaching the game of women’s basketball.
