CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—Freshman Will Jansen gutted out a come-from-behind win at No. 3 singles to clinch the victory as No. 13 North Carolina beat No. 16 Wake Forest, 4-3, in men's action at the Carolina Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon in Chapel Hill.
Jansen fought off a match point on deuce, eventually clawing back by winning four consecutive games after trailing, 5-3, in the third set. He beat Matthew Thomson, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 at No. 3 singles to give UNC a decisive, 4-2 lead before Wake won the final decision of the afternoon to make it 4-3.
