CHAPEL HILL - Twin brothers Tucker and Walker Hume scored all three goals for No. 2 North Carolina in a 3-2 victory over VCU on Sunday evening from Fetzer Field.
North Carolina (3-0) scored its earliest goal of the young season in the fifth minute. Nico Melo’s corner kick skimmed the head of Zach Wright, and the ball continued across the goal and Walker Hume headed home his first goal of the season.
Melo earned his team-leading third assist on the play.
VCU (0-3) rallied in a big way with a pair of goals midway through the first half that came in a span of 69 seconds to take a 2-1 lead, forcing the Tar Heels to play from behind for the first time in 2016.
