North Carolina is well represented in Rio, lets see how they’ve done so far.

Fifteen UNC alums are taking part in the 2016 Olympics. Of that 15, only two have yet to participate in the games. Shalane Flanagan and Vikas Gowda will take part in the Track and Fields events which take place in the second week. The other 13 athletes’ events have begun, and many of them have had fairly successful starts.

UNC’s lone representative in men’s basketball is Harrison Barnes. As a team, the USA is 3-0, but Barnes hasn’t played a major role. He played a combined 19 minutes in the first two games, both US blowouts, scoring 12 total points.
