As the 48th overall draft pick in the NBA Draft, UNC’s Harrison Ingram will don the black and white of the San Antonio Spurs, a landing spot not too far from his hometown of Dallas.
The Spurs’ history is an embarrassment of riches. After drafting Navy’s David “The Admiral” Robinson (still one of the greatest nicknames ever) and seeing him dominate the paint throughout the 90’s and make the 1992 Olympic “Dream Team”, they saw him go down with a season-ending injury in ‘97... only to earn them the #1 pick in the draft: Tim Duncan. Then, with the additions of players like Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, and Bruce Bowen, they only went on to win five NBA titles from 1999 to 2014.
