KANSAS CITY, MO. - North Carolina men's soccer defender Vemund Hole Vik was named to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches Players to Watch, announced Tuesday afternoon.
Hole Vik was one of 24 defenders given the national recognition by the association, as the Aalesund, Norway product was one of two players representing the Atlantic Coast Conference in the announcement.
Entering his first season with the Tar Heels as a graduate transfer, Hole Vik arrives in Chapel Hill after spending the previous four seasons at Elon. The 2022 CAA Defensive Player of the Year and an All-CAA First Team choice a season ago, Hole Vik also collected national honors as an All-Atlantic Region First Team selection, as well as being named a Scholar All-America in the classroom.
