Hoffman Repeats as Region Player Of The Year

Ashley Hoffman, a senior on the NCAA-champion North Carolina field hockey team, has been named the Longstreth/NFHCA Division I South Region Player of the Year, announced Thursday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The NFHCA honored one player from each of the five regions and on Dec . 10th will recognize one of them as the National Collegiate Player of the Year.

In addition to Hoffman, those honored are:
Mid-Atlantic Region – Linnea Gonzales (Maryland)
Mideast Region – Cecile Pieper (Connecticut)
Northeast Region – Ally Hammel (Boston University)
West Region – Paula Portugal (Miami University)

Hoffman, the South Region Player of the Year for the second season in a row, was voted the NCAA Championship MVP after leading UNC to the 2018 national title and an undefeated season.
