Hoeg, Ortega Lead Tar Heels By Duke, 13-6

CHAPEL HILL— had four goals and an assist and added two goals and five assists as No. 1-ranked North Carolina beat No. 11 Duke, 13-6, on a rainy Friday night at Dorrance Field. Carolina went on a 9-0 scoring run spanning both halves, blowing open what had been a close game.

UNC extended its winning streak over Duke to 11 games, dating back to 2015. The Tar Heels have averaged 15.5 goals in those games while holding Duke to 7.5 goals per game in those 11 consecutive wins.

The Tar Heel defense was stellar on Friday, holding Duke scoreless for a span of over 37 minutes as UNC expanded its lead from 4-3 with 12:24 left in the first half to 13-3 in the final 10 minutes of the game.
