The North Carolina Tar Heels captured their second consecutive U.S. Soccer Spring College Program championship on Saturday afternoon after beating Virginia Tech 4-2 at Wake Forest University. The Tar Heels are 8-0-1 in two years of the U.S. Soccer Spring College Program and the only program to go undefeated over the last two years.
It was a back and forth match in the first half as both teams traded goals to make it 2-2 at the halftime. An own goal by the Hokies off a Jack Skahan cross put the Heels up 1-0 before Virginia Tech answered on a corner kick to make it 1-1.
