Several years ago, P.J. Hairston was the posterboy for irresponsibility. Hairston was suspended from UNC’s sports program in 2013 and the university did not seek his reinstatement. This was definitely a down point in Hairston’s life. The 2013-2014 season was supposed to be the year Hairston stepped up as UNC’s leader on the basketball court. After this debacle, Hairston played a stint in the NBA’s Developmental League (The D-League) for the Texas Legends, where he averaged 21.8 points per game.
Despite his setbacks, Hairston was drafted in 2014 by the Miami Heat on behalf of the Charlotte Hornets.
