CHAPEL HILL – With Halloween falling on Carolina Rowing's intrasquad race day, it was only fitting that the two were combined for a Heel-oween Regatta at University Lake.
The Tar Heels began the day with a costume contest organized by pods before a series of three, 750-meter races based on boat class.
The costume contest featured Tiger King, Teletubies, the Tar Heels' second year athletic trainer, Kou Yang, pigs, coaches/administration and the winners, green Gatorade bottles.
After determining the costume contest winner, the Carolina rowers took to the water for a series of races based on boat class, competing for trophies named after the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta.
