GREENSBORO, N.C. (The ACC.com) – North Carolina's Catherine Hayden has been named ACC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday by the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tar Heel forward shares this week's offensive honor with Duke's Rose Tynan. Boston College goalkeeper Sarah Dwyer was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Hayden, a junior from Greenwich, Conn., scored the gamewinner in both Carolina victories last weekend. In UNC's ACC opener at Louisville on Friday, she assisted on the tying goal and scored the go-ahead after the 11th-ranked Cardinals took an early lead.
