Former North Carolina men's basketball player Harrison Barnes was named to USA Basketball's 12-man roster for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He is the first Tar Heel to make the Olympic roster since Vince Carter in 2000.
Barnes played in Chapel Hill from 2010-12. In two seasons with the Tar Heels, the forward averaged 17.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
He was selected with the seventh pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, whom he has spent the past four seasons with and helped win the 2015 NBA title.
