ATHENS, Ga. — North Carolina sophomore Emily Grund has qualified for the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championship for the second year in a row. A native of Keller, Texas, Grund placed seventh in the one-meter diving event at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships on Monday.
Grund, who was fourth after the preliminary rounds, secured the NCAA bid with a score of 569.65. The top seven scores in the finals advance to the 2020 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships that will take place March 18-21 in Athens, Ga.
Freshman Paige Burrell also reached today's opening day finals and finished 15th with a score of 533.
