University of North Carolina junior Ben Griffin tied for 11th after stroke play at the 2016 United States Golf Amateur Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club.
Griffin followed a 4-under-par 66 in Monday’s opening round with a 72 on Tuesday and finished the two days of stroke play at 2-under 138.
The Chapel Hill native squares off at 11:20 a.m. against Canada’s Garrett Rank in Wednesday’s match play. Rank shot 1-over par 141 in stroke play.
Carolina’s William Register shot 77 on Tuesday and did not advance to match play. Register fired an even par 70 on Monday.
