CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Senior Summer Green opened the scoring and sophomore Jessie Scarpa added a pair of goals as fourth-ranked North Carolina defeated UCLA 3-1 in women’s soccer action Sunday afternoon before a crowd of 2,612 fans at Fetzer Field.
In the fourth matchup of the teams in the past 24 months, UNC took a 2-0 advantage before conceding a goal under withering pressure in the 82nd minute. But Scarpa would score her second goal of the game just over three minutes later to clinch the victory for the Tar Heels.
