Austin Greaser, a sophomore at the University of North Carolina, sank a 15-footer for eagle on the 14th hole and posted a final-round 68 to win the GCAA Amateur Series event Sunday at the Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, N.C.
Greaser's eagle came on a 576-yard, par-5. That moved him to 4 under on the day, where he remained after finishing with pars on the final four holes. He shot 70-72-68 to close the 54-hole tournament at 6-under 210. Max Steinlechner of Raleigh was a shot back at 211.
Greaser's UNC teammates Dougie Ergood, Peter Fountain and George McNeely also finished in the top 10.
