As a redshirt freshman a season ago, Jordan Tucker saw minimal playing time, accumulating just 78 snaps in eight games.
But when William Sweet left a year early for the NFL, prompting Charlie Heck's move to left tackle, an opportunity arose for Tucker to fill a void at starting right tackle. And behind a strong spring and impressive start to training camp, he's appeared to seize control of that position.
But how?
"Other than just trusting the coaching staff and weight room staff, I've just been grinding," Tucker said earlier this week.
