On June 1, former North Carolina track and field competitor Emily Godwin found herself at a new sort of starting line. After five years as a Tar Heel student-athlete, a span during which she earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors 12 times, she recently began her first post-collegiate position: a one-year stint as a Chancellor's Fellow at UNC.
The Chancellor's Fellowship, launched by Chancellor Carol Folt in 2014, provides an opportunity for graduating Carolina seniors to explore and understand the inner workings of a higher education institution. Fellows tackle projects within the Chancellor's office and other units across the University, developing skills in project management, critical thinking and research.
