Ryan Gerard, a fifth-year senior from Raleigh, made an eagle and seven birdies en route to a 65 in the final round of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational Wednesday at the Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.
Gerard tied for sixth place and led UNC to a tie for fourth in the 10-team field. Gerard was one of three Tar Heels to finish in the top 12 with Austin Greaser, who tied for ninth, and Peter Fountain who tied for 12th.
The 65 was Gerard's low round of the season (and lowest by a Tar Heel in three events this year) and tied his second-lowest round as a Tar Heel.
