CHAPEL HILL – Thanks to nine Carolina hits, including two home runs by starting pitcher Hannah George, the Tar Heels downed Charlotte, 9-0, on Tuesday night at Anderson Stadium. George not only tossed Carolina's second shutout of the season, but also drove in seven RBI to tie the UNC single-game record. The freshman slugged two home runs Tuesday night – the first of which was a grand slam.
In addition to George, both Leah Murray and Kiani Ramsey went 2-for-2 at the plate. Murray came around to score three Carolina runs and Ramsey drove in two.
