CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – A converted penalty kick by Milo Garvanian just 13 minutes into the first half was the deciding factor in a 1-0 win for the University of North Carolina men's soccer team over South Florida on Sunday night at Dorrance Field.
Following the victory, the Tar Heels begin the young season undefeated at 2-0 while the Bulls drop to 0-1-1. The win also marked head coach Carlos Somoano's 150th career win.
A foul on a South Florida defender inside the box awarded Carolina a penalty kick in the 13th minute.
