The United States Women’s National Team won the World Cup on Sunday afternoon, blitzing Japan right out of the gate and ultimately winning by a final margin of 5-2.
The US WNT was aided by six former Tar Heels, including starting defender Meghan Klingenberg and Tobin Heath, who scored a goal in the final for the United States.
