GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke’s Rita Somogyi and North Carolina’s Carlexa Fevry have been named the ACC Co-Female Fencers of the Week, while Duke’s Jonathan Schwartzman has been named ACC Male Fencer of the Week.
A senior epeeist from Portland, Oregon, Rita Somogyi led the Duke epee squad to a stellar 5-0 showing as she logged 10 victories on the afternoon. The 10th-ranked Blue Devils went undefeated for the second weekend in a row as they defeated Boston College and North Carolina, as well as No. 8 Northwestern, Air Force and MIT. The Duke women currently hold a 15-8 (3-0 ACC) season record after four meets.
