CHAPEL HILL- Highlighted by an eight-run seventh inning, North Carolina cruised past UNCG 12-5 at Boshamer Stadium.
The Tar Heels jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after scoring in the first and second innings. North Carolina tacked on two more in the fifth frame before UNCG pulled within one run at 4-3 in the top of the seventh.
North Carolina proved opportunistic in the seventh inning, capitalizing on a pair of UNCG errors en route to putting up eight runs. Angel Zarate collected a pair of hits and two RBI in the inning while Dylan Harris doubled to plate two runs.
