CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – In the first of back-to-back home Atlantic Coast Conference matches this weekend, the top-ranked UNC men’s tennis team beat visiting Clemson 6-1 at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center Friday afternoon. The Tar Heels host No. 45 Virginia Tech on Sunday at 1 p.m.
With the win, Carolina improved to 19-1 on the year, 4-1 in ACC play. Clemson fell to 11-10 (2-4 ACC) heading into a match Sunday at NC State.
“We have a tough league and it’s tougher as we go forward,” UNC coach Sam Paul said. “Virginia Tech is really under-ranked, no doubt about it.
