CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sophomore Vance Honeycutt hit a grand slam, junior Kevin Eaise pitched 6.2 strong innings and No. 18 North Carolina used a seven-run second to take down Charlotte 16-3 on Tuesday night at Robert and Miriam Hayes Stadium.
UNC (13-5) posted a season-high 17 hits, while scoring a season-best 16 runs. Tomas Frick and Colby Wilkerson each collected three hits and Honeycutt drove in five, matching his career-high total for RBIs. Mac Horvath drove in three runs, while Frick and Alberto Osuna had two RBIs apiece.
